I am versatile and motivated graduate engineer with proven leadership, communication, problem-solving and teamworking skills. My career objective is to register as a professional engineer and to further my practical knowledge within the civil engineering field. Subsequently, I am drawn to companies that encourages professional engineering registration, exposes employees to various multi-disciplinary projects and innovation. During my professional experience, I was fortunate to partake in several projects abroad. Working on projects aboard required me to be adaptable while still being able to yield high-quality work in stringent deadlines. I was exposed to a vast set of technical design areas such as reinforced concrete and post-tensioning concrete design, all which had to adhere to foreign design codes and relevant software. Not only did my academic experience enhance my knowledge of the field, but also helped me develop my interpersonal skills. My communication skills were improved by my role as a head tutor at UCT, which required interacting and communicating with a diverse group of people with different personal and professional backgrounds. Furthermore, I was elected to lead the events portfolio in the Engineering and Built Environment Postgraduate Council (EBE PG SC) at UCT. This helped me further enhance my ability to work in teams through collaboration with other members in organising events such as the EBE Research Expo and a breakfast drive to support the EBE PG distress fund.
