I have a strong work ethic, I am self-confident, reliable and a problem solver. I am a diligent worker and a strategic thinker. I strive to be efficient and approach new tasks and problems imaginatively and enthusiastically. My general interests include solving puzzles, playing board games, baking, travelling and playing tennis with family and friends. I recently completed a puzzle of one thousand pieces of the skyline of Rome, which challenged my mental endurance and ability to constantly look at problems from a different perspective. During my travels I particularly enjoyed the dynamism and cosmopolitan nature of the places I seen, particularly London and Dubai. Travelling taught me how to adapt to various situations and changing circumstances. My interest in conflicts particularly those of an international nature inspired my decision to study law at the University of Johannesburg. I particularly enjoyed Model United Nations Debating in high school and I was the captain of the team from 2012 until 2014. I believe that my experience as an accomplished Model United Nations debater particularly my selection to be one of two youth delegates to represent South and East Africa at the World Humanitarian Conference would assist in fulfilling the duties expected in this role. During the conference I was able to engage with various role players involved in the delivery and distribution of foreign aid and learn about the issues that surround it. One of the main tasks was to work together to find solutions to these various issues by engaging with members of the community, various NGOs and NPO’s and government officials. I believe that my experience in Model United Nations Debating aided in my development to approach problems with tact and diplomacy. As a debater, the biggest challenges were often the time constraints in which we had to work together however I believe that I thrive under such conditions. I was selected to as a member of my high school’s executive council and was I was co-head of the culture portfolio, which helped me develop skills in team and project management as well as my ability to deal with setbacks and pressure. During my experience at Phukubje Pierce Masithela Attorneys and at Baker McKenzie, I worked together with the candidate attorneys and a senior associate on various cases and research projects. During my experience at both organisations I relished at the opportunity to deliver the work I was tasked with to the exact specifications instructed and produce work of the highest quality in order to meet and often exceed expectations in a highly pressured work environment.
