It is with great enthusiasm that I address this letter and the accompanying resume and supporting document to you to apply for a position of candidate attorney for 2019 or 2020. Currently I am an unemployed post graduate from the University of KwaZulu Natal, I have completed my first degree, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2017 and I furthered my studies with Master of Laws (LLM) in business laws majoring in Advanced labour law, advanced tax law, advanced corporate law and a research focusing in corporate law (business rescue). I have managed to complete both these degrees in record time. I am a friendly, articulate and focused person who is used to working under pressure and managing intense work load. My obtaining of both LLB and LLM in record time is testimony to my diligence, commitment and acceptance of hard work. The nature of these degrees has prepared me to be the best candidate for this position as they involved a great deal of independent research, requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of other skills. The case analysis and legal opinion that I have been drafting throughout these years have given me the ability to convey complex legal ideas clearly and with confidence. I have participated in the UKZN law clinic where we dealt with different cases form different people of different racial groups and different backgrounds. I have also participated in the oral presentation for final years (moot) in 2017 where I was selected as number 9 of the top 12 students to participate in the semi- final. All these presentations have helped me develop a strong advocacy skill which is critical in the court room and when consulting with clients. I am a fast and accurate writer, with a keen eye for detail. I am always eager to learn more about the implementation of the laws and policies to our daily lives as South Africans, reading up on such topics on my own time to become more knowledgeable. I would love to bring this passion of law to this law firm. I am a community minded citizen who wants to make a positive change in the world. I consider myself a worthy candidate as I possess numerous interests outside of my studies, such as: my church, I am also a member of Foundation for Youth Development (F4YD), Black Lawyers Association (BLA), I was a member of Students for Law and Social Justice (SLSJ). This shows that I am a well-rounded applicant as opposed to a purely academic one. My drive and ambition to work well with anyone is what sets me apart from others. I believe that my talents and motivation would be an asset to this law firm, and I am confident that the experience and work ethics that I will be exposed to as a candidate attorney in this firm will guide me into shaping my law career as you take an interest in your candidate attorneys. I can take on the responsibility of this position immediately and have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of it. Thank you for taking the time to consider my application and I am excited about the possibility of speaking with you further about this outstanding opportunity. Yours sincerely Miss N.T Xaba.
