I am Ntozanele Libimbi, BA Honours in Journalism graduate, I am passionate about journalism, to me the whole process is thrilling and therapeutic, I am a diligent individual that is passionate about storytelling and loves working with people which is a characteristic that I know will make me easy to work with. My experience as a student at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) has taught me how to write for online publications and how to incorporate the different elements that the golden age of the digital era have to provide and I got the opportunity to apply that knowledge while working as a Journalist at The Open Journal, I worked hard and diligently and was appointed as editor for the Entertainment and Lifestyle section in less than a year, working there sharpened my interview and writing skills. My senior year at UJ taught me a lot about working in broadcast ranging from script writing, recording bulletins and presenting information in a suitable manner. That module drew me to broadcast and led to me starting a podcast title Plainly Colourful, my experience as a co-host to a podcast titled plainly colourful has given me the understanding of working in such an environment. It has taught me the importance of research and the importance of engaging with the listener as radio is an intimate and blind medium. My experience as an intern at The Star newspaper for three months has sharpened my interviewing, transcribing, framing and news compilation skills. The environment molded me into being a meticulous and observant journalist. My time there grew my love for journalism. Taking up the role of an art director in the magazine Boundaries allowed me to explore the digital space of journalism. I was handed the task to design the cover, contents page and the entire print version of the magazine. In the process of being an Art Director I learned how to use Canva and Filmora to create the magazine and to edit videos. In 2019, I was part of Ground Breaking media and we produced documentary where I took the role of a script-writer. My experience from that project taught me a lot about the importance of script-writing and subtitling in a body of art. I would make a good fit in your company because I am an extrovert, my ability to connect with people and make them comfortable to work with me is what I believe is essential. My experience as a volunteer at Global Camps Africa has taught me how to deal with sensitive issues, especially towards children as I worked with vulnerable kids who have been abused or are depressed, being a camp counsellor to these children has given me a bigger perspective on life and added more respect to the journalism profession as being that voice to help someone is very important in this democratic society. I believe in the saying that learning is a never ending process and I am always willing to learn, I am still working on improving my video editing skills and I am more than willing to put in the hours until I am good at it. I am outgoing, inquisitive and witty. I always try to make other people comfortable, I am a ball of energy and my positive energy is contagious. I work well under pressure and I commit myself in everything I do. My academic qualifications, achievements, and skills combined with my enthusiasm places me in a good position to excel as a Journalist I would appreciate your consideration and I hope you are impressed with my resume. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you. Sincerely Miss Ntozanele Libimbi
