HR Administration On HR Administration, I have been involved in organizing employee files, creating new employee files with onboarding documents, assisting employees with Adhoc documents. I also assist in creating interview panel files and organization of relevant HR Files and documents. Occupational Health and Safety. I have compiled a Health and Safety Guide booklet for SAEON National Office employees, to educate them about the importance of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Part of my responsibility is also to present on Occupational Health and Safety to new SAEON employees. I am involved in analyzing health and safety risks for the SAEON National Office and bringing solutions. Report Writing I have learned skills in writing monthly and quarterly feedback reports derived from Science events hosted by the SAEON Science Engagement Officers. Recruitment and Selection I have been organizing interviews, screening CVs, creating interview schedules, sending communication to potential candidates and panelists, creating panel files, administering skills assessments when needed and ensuring that interviews run smoothly. Register compilation On a monthly basis, I create the SAEON Staff Security Register which is administered by our security personnel at the gate, and on excel also complete the SAEON Employee register for record-keeping. Planning, Organizing and Coordinating meetings and functions I assist with coordinating HR meetings, such as planning for Interviews to take place, ensuring that logistic arrangements for panel members and interviewee candidates are made, and organizing refreshments and ensuring that the meetings run smoothly. I also had the pleasure of assisting the Science Engagement Coordinator with her portfolio, and I have been involved in assisting her with coordinating Science Engagement events and providing administrative support. Travel Arrangements I have been SAEON’s travel administrator for close to 2 years now and I currently and I currently do online and manual travel bookings. This includes booking flights, accommodation, car rentals and shuttles for staff, and external guests, engaging with suppliers and sending travel itineraries to the travelers. Communication Being in HR and understanding that we work with diverse people, I have built strong communication skills to be able to interact effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders to NRF/SAEON. I am able to communicate professionally through email, face to face interactions and telephonic as well. Computer Skills I am good with utilizing Microsoft functions, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and also Outlook.
