I am a commerce and law graduate. I have a passion in law. I started my internship at lawyers for Human Rights in March 2017 with no clue in human rights litigation and public interest litigation. As months went by I developed a strong passion in this area. I worked in the migrants programme for about 6 months and developed a solid understanding of human rights litigation. When I was moved to the Strategic Litigation Unit, I was exposed to public interest matters in the area of labour law, education, housing and health care litigation. I was exposed drafting, litigation and research skills for High court matters. When my internship ended in March 2018 I intended to continue but sadly I could not as this was against the human resources policy of the organization. In March of the same year I was offered a position as volunteer personal assistant by a former attorney of Lawyers for Human Rights Kimani Ndungu. I am still at that practice. His practice majors in immigration, refugee and labour and contract law. During my tenure at his practice I have gained solid drafting and litigation skills. I have also gained vast experience in High Court and Magistrates court litigation. My passion for law is still at the center of my heart and it will give me complete career satisfaction to set a footprint in the legal profession. I am self-starter and self-motivated having been in a business environment before. Any legal opportunity will not only grow me career wise but will also enable me to contribute positively to the matters that affect ordinary South African population.
