Brief Profile and Achievements I have worked for several organisations ranging from private to public sector for more than 15 years. My career started in the Eastern Cape when I was appointed as a Junior Internal Auditor on contract basis and later moved up to Gauteng where I joined Gobodo Inc. (Chartered Accountants) as a Trainee Accountant. At Gobodo I was responsible for accounting, auditing, tax and other consulting services such as corporate governance and finance. I then joined the South African Revenue Services (SARS) as a Senior Internal Auditor. However, due to diligence in doing my job and having left the company with a good track record, I was later headhunted back to Gobodo Risk Management as a Manager Internal Auditing, Risk Management and Consulting. My passion in the finance industry - prompted by my previous work experience at SARS (an entity for the National Treasury), made me to later join the National Treasury as a Director Internal Audit, where within a short space of time I was appointed to act as a Chief Audit Executive (Chief Director) - having influenced by my leadership skills as well as evident outstanding performance in my position as a Director Internal Audit. In 2010 I joined the South African Civil Aviation Authority as Executive - Internal Audit (Chief Audit Executive) and held this position for 9 years with numerous accolades/ accomplishments of clean reports from the Auditor General for more than 6 years. I am a pioneer of Good Corporate Governance and my MBA “Thesis” mainly focussed/ concentrated on this area, and I have written many papers and articles, including inputs on KING lV which was launched in November 2016. ACHIEVEMENTS o Established the internal audit department for the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) a Public Entity for the Department of Transport o Played a leading role in the establishment of National Treasury internal audit Department o Both of the above departments went through external independent quality review (IQR) as prescribed by the Institute of Internal Audit standards (IIA) and the results “Conformed” with the IIA standards o Received an award certificate of excellence in doing my job as the Chief Audit Executive of SACAA from the Minister of Transport – Hon Dr Blade Nzimande o Internal Audit department was honored for outstanding work by the Director of Civil Aviation/ Chief Executive Officer o Received clean or unqualified audit reports from the External Audit “The Auditor General” during my stay in the above positions for numerous years. o My performance has always been above the average performance of 3 and 4 being exceeded the set performance standards and 5 being exceptional performer, and I have never received performance below 3. o My performance has always been independently reviewed by the Audit Committee together with the Chief Executive Officer and audited by the External Audit “The Auditor General”. o Received my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) within record time, with distinctions in Financial Management, Financial Strategy and Field Study. Currently I am a Managing Director of Shinda Consulting, specialising in Business Advisory, Strategy Development, Business Turnaround, Financial Management Review, Budgets Development and Policy and Strategy Review, Mentoring and Coaching Young Entrepreneurs, Advising Boards, Audit Committees and Executive Managers.
