I have been working as a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician at Africa Sunoil Refineries (Pty) Ltd, Mobeni and I am a holder of a Master of applied sciences degree in Biotechnology (cum laude). My masters research was conducted at the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology, Durban University of Technology and entailed the design of novel microalgal cultivation strategies utilizing waste substrates to enhance biomass production for application in fuel and feed industries. I am currently seeking new challenges and career advancement in quality/research and development. In support of my academic accomplishments to date, three peer reviewed journal articles were published in leading ISI high impact factor journals including Bioresource Technology, Algal Research and Journal of Environmental Management as chapters in my masters thesis. These collaborations highlight my ability to perform set objectives effectively not only as an individual but in a team setting. In addition I was the awardee of the “top masters publisher award” for 2017 and the “recognition award for graduating masters Cum Laude” at the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology. Moreover I received the “Top Published Masters student of the year 2018” award in the faculty of applied Sciences at the Durban University of Technology. I am a highly motivated and disciplined individual who is passionate about science and research. I organize my time effectively, having been exposed to working in stressful, highly competitive and stimulating research environments for approximately 5 years. I believe this position would provide me the opportunity to continue research and reinforce my knowledge in the field of biotechnology.
