As a Pharmacist l have a variety of responsibilities, including: providing information about medications to patients; advising physicians and health practitioners regarding selection of medications and their dosages/side effects; reviewing prescriptions to ensure accuracy and evaluate their suitability; maintaining accurate and confidential records (pharmacy files, patient information, etc); maintaining inventory; implementing and maintaining procedures for mixing and labelling pharmaceuticals; following legal protocol; compounding and dispensing medications; weighing and mixing ingredients; assessing the strength and purity of medications; analysing prescription trends; preventing excess or harmful usage of medication; collaborating with other pharmacists to evaluate the effectiveness or quality of prescriptions or drug regiments; offering health-promotion activities; updating pharmaceutical databases; preparation of sterile solutions; and publishing educational information.
