My name is Pumeza Mabusela. I completed a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies Degree from Rhodes University majoring in Journalism, IsiXhosa and Sociology. Among other things, I have worked as a communication intern for a science institution known as the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity in 2013 for twelve months where, among other things, I was responsible for writing the institute’s newsletter, media releases, brochures, compiling presentations, managing promotional stands during certain events etc.. Having worked at three different community radio stations, I have more than four years of experience in radio production (which includes news writing, producing (news and content for programmes), editing). Between 2016 March and 2017 March, I worked for the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement where I worked as a science researcher and journalist covering science related news. In doing this I got an opportunity to network with various people and institutions. I have also had an opportunity to work as a lecturer for WSU (contract), where among other modules I taught Investigative journalism. I would welcome an opportunity to serve because I believe that the experience that I have gained over the years has empowered me to be able to perform all key responsibilities as listed on the advert. I possess very good communication skills- verbal and non-verbal. I like working with people, and possess all the other required skills and attributes which will enhance and add value to the work I will be doing. Therefore it would give me great pleasure to be selected or offered a job because I believe it will give me an opportunity to contribute knowledge and skill while learning from the organization.
