I am a Retail Business Management graduate; obtained ND in 2002 with Cape Technikon, I am currently studying towards B-tech Business Administration which I am due to complete November 2019. I have gained broad knowledge and skills in retail sector through working experience as I have worked for leading retailers in the Southern Africa; those skills are analytical, planning, organising, decision making, problem solving and attention to detail. Working for Woolworths group as a Merchandise controller in 2002 based in their head office in Cape Town was a good grounding in my career, my duties and responsibilities gave me knowledge and skills, I was exposed in store planning, planning budget for new store openings, chasing stock with the suppliers, store clustering in terms of demographics, knowledge of store profiles and customer base, travelling nationally doing store visit, monitoring product performance and actions markdowns, presentation of product performance to management. Working for Foschini group as merchandise assistance in 2005, I gained administration skills as I was raising orders, chasing deliveries, sorting and re arranging samples, liaison with the distribution centre about promotional merchandise, approving samples in terms of quality and correct ticketing information. Working for Edcon group in Johannesburg from 2008 – 2011 as Specialist planner for temptation was a highlight of my career, as I managed the whole 8 temptations stores nationally. Major function of my job was to manage replenishment, these were mu duties: I planned budget for the season, did allocations for the entire 8 stores, worked closely with marketing about promotions and store displays, product projections for Replenishment lines for the season, Arthur planning for the department, planning and analyzing the department and evaluating process put in place and improve departmental performance, re – deriving RPL model, fixing models on weekly basis, planning store allocation, chasing deliveries with suppliers and making sure that we always have stock available in stores for our customers and determine which products should be on markdown. The role allowed me to deal with different stake holders and with different people in different level. These were my achievements with Edcon: - Nominated for performance golden heart award. - Completed fast track program. In 2012 I joined Smollan group and they have appointed me after Engen Petroleum Limited account in Cape Town, I work as a category analyst for beverages, perishables and tobacco, I do planograms and projections for all my categories. All three categories are valued over Billion per year. I have created the following reports which assist on managing the categories more effectively: - Promotional Analysis - Price Elasticity - Paretho Chart - Seasonality Analysis - Distribution Tracker My main key function is to align planograms with the Category Plans. I operate as consultant to Category Managers; I do projections for the season, track and see if we are meeting our targets. I have worked closely with big major suppliers Coke and BAT, have obtained the following certifications with JDA: - Category Management - Category Advisor/Analyst - Space planning advanced - Floor planning - Assortment optimization ACHIEVEMENTS: - I was recently awarded for Business Leadership 2016; the award is for excellent performance for Financial Year 2015. Beverages grew 13% which is equivalent to R992Mil. The award also recognized my commitment and support to the Category Managers. - Recently received focus recognition from Petronas, for selfness commitment to deliver key info in the function of post campaign analysis.
