I am an attorney currently occupying the role of Legal and Compliance Manger at Hans Merensky Holdings (Pty) Ltd a leading global agriculture and timber company with operations in South Africa, Europe, South America and the Netherlands amongst other jurisdictions. Prior to HMH I practiced as a tax attorney in two of the big law firms in South Africa (ENSAfrica and Bowmans). I hold an LLB degree from Wits and I am currently studying towards a Higher Diploma in Compliance Management from the University of Johannesburg. I am currently studying towards the Compliance and Board Governance certificates which will be completed in December 2019. I have also enrolled to write 4 of the CSSA charted secretaries exams in October. I will believe that my background in tax, coupled with the experience I have gathered working in-house for a global company has equipped me with the necessary skills for this role that I am applying for. Upon completion of my studies and the CSSA exams in December 2019, I will hold both the theoretical and practical knowledge in three core areas, being law, compliance and company secretarial, as such, I believe that this makes me a preferred candidate for this position.
