To whom it may concern, Thank you so much for taking the time to read my CV. I have currently been working in a pre-school environment for five years. I have worked in Grade 000 for a year, Grade 00 for two years and currently in Grade R. I am in my final year of completing my Bed (ECD) Foundation Phase degree with UNISA and will be finished in November 2019. I work in a Christian school and I personally have a strong Christian faith; which shines through in my daily interactions with the children, the parents as well as my colleagues. I am able to teach about all other religions as I have covered “Religious Studies”, through my degree which I thoroughly enjoyed and received a distinction for. Please see attached my current academic summary from UNISA. Teaching is my passion; working with children inspires me to be better every day and to be the best teacher I can be for them. In my current teaching experience, we encourage, “Future Focused Learning” using various Global Competencies to help learners “think out the box” and to “problem solve” using their own ideas, and help them develop their own core skills, which will equip them to be future focused citizens of the world. The Global Competencies we focus on daily in our schools with our children are the following:- Communication skills – such as participating in discussions and sharing their own understandings with their class and teacher Social skills – collaborating with others and learning to interact effectively with fellow classmates Self-management skills –focusing on self-regulation and self-reflection Thinking skills – critical, creative and reflective thinking as well as problem-solving skills Research skills – using critical thinking skills to develop general knowledge and to inquire into the world around them We use various strategies to encourage the development of these skills; such as the use of “De Bono's 6 Thinking Hats”. The hats are really fun to use as they encourage the learners to think in various ways, such as:- White = Fact hat Blue = Thinking or planning hat Red = Feelings hat Green = Creative hat Yellow = Benefits hat Black = Caution hat Further strategies we use in our teaching is Kagans’ co-operative learning strategies and P4C, these programs help us engage with our learners and help bring out the best learning situation we can achieve in the moment. Thank you for your time in reading my letter and CV I hope to hear from you soon, and really look forward to this next chapter in my teaching career. Kind Regards and God Bless René Yeoman (***)-***-****
