I am a highly trained investment professional. My experience post qualification spans more than 5 years within the financial services (Investment Banking and Asset Management). I currently attending Alliance Française du Cap with aspirations to become proficient in French for career advancement and growth. I come from a humble background and my greatest accomplishment is being the first person in my extended family to complete my high school and tertiary education. Furthermore, I am the first Chartered Accountant and motivated younger family members to follow this path successfully. My journey has been challenging and humbling. My greatest achievement has been the achievement of a university degree and qualify as a professional accountant. In my previous roles I worked in the private sector, more specifically the financial services sector as an investment analyst/associate (analysing mainly private equity deals) actively managing and assisting organisations in their corporate activities. Some highlights in my career include taking leadership roles and helping organisations in the unlisted renewable energy space in South Africa. The responsibilities included origination, structuring and management of a range of debt transactions including a specific focus on infrastructure and developmental assets. I performed fundamental credit analysis and research and produce investment proposals for the credit committee. My roles have allowed me to continue building my career and try make a meaningful impact for society and the beautiful African continent I call home. Unfortunately, my area of reach is currently limited to Sub-Sahara, more specifically South Africa. My ambition is to extend my reach and interactions to the entire continent and continue to grow and develop into a global citizen actively seeking to make positive and sustainable changes for the many problems and opportunities in the world today. I am constantly trying to improve my knowledge of the current strategies and trends. I have passed levels I and II of the CFA accreditation. My work experience includes working on the analysis and execution of new investments and maintaining existing investments, develop and enhance current portfolio businesses through active management with management teams, leading due diligence processes, building advanced leverage finance and DCF financial models, corresponding with external legal/corporate finance/technical advisors and reporting on investment performance to the investment and credit committee members.
