I am a Landscape Architectural graduate from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. I began my career in the built environment at a young age whilst shadowing my Dad who is a senior site manager for one of the largest construction organisations in Africa. I chose to pursue a three-year course in Landscape architecture in 2011 on the basis that the discipline so versatile. I was moved by the fact that plants are ever evolving and if combined correctly with hard elements while adhering to specific principles, could result in experiences much different to that of an interior space. I matured my career, working for award winning firms and landscape practices in Cape Town. Through my 5 years of combined experience, I have gained significant exposure to strategic site analysis, design, and project management in both sectors- residential, as well as commercial. I founded GreenArch in 2019 with the motive of be providing affordable, innovative solutions that respond ideally to the needs of my clients and the context of their environments. I remain inspired by opportunities to celebrate contemporary, ordinary as well as antique settings through creative design. My propensity for materiality and construction detail developed through troubleshooting and problem solving on projects. I have grasped the ability to visualize the 3-dimensional implications of a conceptual proposal and this advantage has the greatest influence on my approach to design & layout. Having the ability to consult at this level has allowed me to collaborate successfully with clients and other industry professions to create spectacular environments. I believe design should be recognized as more than layout and decoration. In addition to functionality and aesthetics which are crucial components- prioritizing the observer's experience is key to creating a perfectly, captivating space.
