I pride myself on personalized pharmaceutical care for cases that are often overlooked, providing innovative solutions for patients who would otherwise be left to struggle. As a pharmacist and congenital heart defect survivor, I am drawn to the values of companies that aim to make the world a safer place, and strongly believe that I could be an asset to any team I join. The ability to possess a bilateral view as both a professional healthcare provider and a patient lends itself to a unique set of skills that would allow me to merge both personal and work-related experience with remarkable innovation. If allowed the opportunity, I would operate as a pharmacist, bridging the gap between patients and professionals. My knowledge as a cardiac patient would encourage a relationship with other patients built on trust and shared experiences. This will allow for improved feedback on patients’ needs, and optimization of pharmaceutical care based on free and easy communication. The psychological impact of a patient’s individual suffering as a result of their illness, is often underestimated. Having personally encountered this, it puts me in the advantageous position to alleviate patients’ anxiety through shared experiences. Additionally, I have enhanced the use of certain pharmaceutical products to optimize my own post operative recovery. These included combining my medication in small capsules to decrease pill burden, providing analgesia through suspension/syrup formulation to minimize throat discomfort , and combining wound dressings with the appropriate cream to create a superficial transdermal patch. As a practicing Muslim, I have the knowledge to help the company I join to meet patients’ specific religious needs. This is important in overcoming limiting factors such as with pork based gelatine capsules and other similar non halaal/kosher things. Furthermore, having been on the receiving end of pharmaceutical care, I am able to recognize the gaps in care. As such, this allows for development of innovative solutions to improve patient experience based on challenges faced, and what could have been done better. I am also well spoken, with a strong pharmaceutical background, and will be able to promote and sell products to local doctors. This will allow me to serve a dual purpose to the company as both a rep and consultant. In the continually progressive world, diversity is growing need in the workplace. Adding a female of colour, and one with a disability to your team will promote such diversity. I appreciate the opportunity to apply to the company, and hope that the application will be considered in my favour
