My name is Sean Chris Strydom – also known as illustrydom. I’ve been a full-time freelance illustrator, visual storyteller and problem solver since 2006. I enjoy working in several styles, and this enables me to create strong and appropriate visual solutions for a wide variety of artistic fields (advertising, editorial, illustration for animation, books, etc.) Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to work on a whole bunch of exciting projects for some amazing repeat clients. I never know what’s coming through the door and I like it that way! In the advertising field I’ve had the pleasure of producing work for clients like Sony, GlaxoSmithKline, Pampers, Union Pacific Railway Canada, The Endangered Wildlife Trust, etc. I’ve enjoyed creating editorial artwork for top magazines like British Airways Highlife, Oprah, Forbes, Fairlady and Tax Talk Journal. I’ve also been lucky to have created illustrations for animation for clients like Visa, Standard Bank and Absa. In the book field I’ve worked with Pearson Education, Macmillan Publisher, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Penguin, and many more. I grew up in Zimbabwe as a child, but have been living in South Africa since the late 80’s. I currently live in the fast paced, and friendly city of Johannesburg. If you’d like to chat about your next full-time or freelance project, feel free to contact me. Cheers!
