• Review and audit the SHEAR Management system for suitability, effectiveness and improvement on a continuous basis to ensure conformance with the international standards. • Ensure implementation, control, and management of all legal and ISO systems at the Donn factory. • Develop detailed road maps/projects plans for new projects based on Risk Matrix • Ensure that ISO/OSHAS/WCM standards are maintained and corrective actions implemented. • Define action plans to comply with local laws and regulations • Perform high level Risk Assessments according to saint Gobain Methodology • Ensure Compliance with SG EHS Site Risk (insurance Risk) • Building and maintaining a safety and environmental improvement culture to sustain and enhance world class performance levels • Manage budget within scope of control • Monitoring compliance of Saint –Gobain Standards, legal requirement and ensure recommendations or deviations are closed out promptly. • Ensure implementation of critical safety standards (warehousing and loading, FLT, LOTO, contractor control, machine safety, electrical safety, working at heights, permit to work, confined space, noise, vehicle and pedestrian segregation, etc.) • Improve systems processes used in the Factory to tangibly change the safety culture leading to informed compliance by employees. • Analyze data of Health, Safety and Environmental checklists and audits to identify, plan and arrange training to instill compliance of Safety, Health and Environmental processes. E.g. induction, contractor control, RA, MS, PTW, LOTO, etc • Ensure critical organizational roles (employees) know hazard identification and effective risk assessments that prevent incidents/accidents and injuries. • Ensure actions from risk assessments/profiles are implemented and risks are reduced. • Ensure monthly safety reports and quarterly risk control reports are timeously compiled • Ensure that medical surveillance programs are implemented • Ensure that all necessary surveys are conducted and actions are followed through to completion (Hygiene Survey-Noise, Lighting, Ergonomics, Safety Culture, etc). • Review and contribute procedure and work instruction drafting and adoption. • Ensure that schedules are drawn up for planned job observations, that they are conducted at the intervals specified and that recommendations made are followed through. • Ensure that incident and accident registers are updated. • Co-ordinate incident and accident investigations where required ensure actions from incident and accident investigations are followed through to completion. • Ensure incident and accident statistics are updated. • Co-ordinate and chair health and safety committee meetings. • Actively engage, coach and challenge management towards safety commitment and close out of their actions. • Liaise with head of departments to maintain legal register, ensuring employees understand standards determined by the legislator, and that company procedures are adhered to and amended as and when required. • Endeavour for continuous improvement in SHEAR and use of robust systems to prevent incidents and incidents. • Extensively use networking platforms to gain new thinking and ways in SHE and within Saint-Gobain. • Manage all external Audits done by Accreditation body (ISO 9001, 14001 AND OSHAS 18001, Nosa, legal compliance) • Ensure that SMAT/OSA audits are being conducted and actions followed through. • Investigate HSE non-conformances using WCM (World Class Manufacturing) tools (quick kaizen, standard kaizen, SHEARO, tags) • Risk Reduction Projects implemented: Ensuring risk reduction/ improvement in the plant (Machine guarding improvements, safety communication board, ergonomic improvements, Noise reduction projects, PPE improvements-glove project, new induction cards for truck drivers, Implementation of Serious Injury Potential Incidents, etc.) • H&S, E and SR Pillar owner
