My experience in Environmental Management spans over 18 years, with a solid foundation as an Environmental Officer in mining industries. I worked as a Pupil Water Technician at Eskom Matla Power Station during 2001-2002 (1 year) as part of my experiential training. I joined South Deep Gold Mine (Goldfields) from 2003-2007 (4 years 3 months) as an Environmental Technician. During this period, I developed an interest in Environmental Management which then led me to do Environmental related courses, and started with Implementation of ISO 14001, where I dealt with environmental awareness training and facilitation, environmental Monitoring, environmental auditing, incident management, waste and water management, dust monitoring, library management, supervising office cleaners, compiling monthly and quarterly environmental reports. I also worked at Waterval Smelter Anglo Platinum from 2007-2008 (7 months) as an Environmental Officer; where I was involved with SHEQ inspections and audits, weekly and monthly SHEQ reporting, incident management using ISOMETRIX, water and waste management. I am currently employed by Sibanye Stillwater as an Environmental Officer since March 2008 (Former Lonmin) to date; where I was awarded an opportunity in 2012 to act as an Environmental Manager for seven months and managed to maintain ISO 14001 certificates for Mining with BUREAU VERITAS and Engineering Services with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
