In the past three years, I have mainly focused on creating new self-funded video web series content, which I have been uploading onto a Facebook video content page that I setup and manage, called Mobile First Africa. The content created has generated a steady following and support from sponsors. 24 years ago, I started my visual content journey when a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) called Community Video Education Trust (CVET) taught me how to use video cameras to tell my own stories. I then furthered my professional television production career working for large television broadcasters in South Africa like ETV News, SABC and M-Net Broadcast Services. After my involvement in multimedia (online video) content creation for Avusa (now Arena Media Group) and the South African Press Association (SAPA), I continued my early adopter nature by finding practical uses for new products and communicating it to others. Today, this includes starting my own social media publishing media company called Circle 7 Media and training people in Southern, East and West Africa how to use their mobile phone cameras to start their video content journeys, as well as understanding the value of video and social media analytics and how to use it on future video projects.
