I worked as a technical apprentice in VWSA’s manufacturing plant in Uitenhage from 2015 until I trade tested in 2018. This was a total of ONE YEAR working as an artisan in the VWSA Body Shop where I was part of the team that maintained and repaired the main Polo 250 main line and the doors. This included the maintenance of robotic systems, pneumatic and PLC systems. I also worked in VWSA’s Paint Shop plant where I was also assigned to be part of the maintenance team. That is where I became more familiar with SCADA systems and DURR robots. I am current working at AirAfrica as an air conditioning and refrigeration technician. Since I am a qualified electrician I also fulfil the duties of an electrician when the need arises. I build electrical panels for the 3Ph refrigeration units and do the power supply for the air conditioning units. I have been working at AirAfrica since April 2019.
