My key accounting and financial competencies include, but are not limited to, maintaining financial records, managing budgets, compiling of financial statements, debtors and creditors control, bank reconciliation, audit, tax compliance, and planning to help improve their operational efficiency and to free up time that can be spent focusing on business strategy. In my current position I am also responsible for all aspects of staff contracts and payroll. In my career, I have gained a specialist’s understanding of financial instruments and accounting software. My computer skills on all Microsoft programs including word and excel is excellent. I have worked on Pastel, not extensively but understand and have worked on various accounting programs and the basics is the same. I am involved with creating and implementing policies and Standard Operating Procedures. I do all compliance procedures for the WCED (Western Cape Education Department). I have previously calculated and submitted VAT and Imported VAT returns on behalf of clients. My ability to reconcile and process information accurately and analytically and using the date to make decisions is one of my best attributes. I am a strong believer in ethics and following a code of conduct. I also believe that interpersonal relationships are an important aspect in any company, and I see myself as a person who works well in a team. I have a positive attitude and am well organized.
