Sphelele Zondo is self-motivated and goal-oriented. He holds a BSc Environmental Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is well exposed to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) work from field data capture, to data manipulating, management and analysis, to producing quality GIS outputs. He possesses a comprehensive background in GIS and Remote Sensing, and he is a proficient user of the ESRI product ArcGIS 9-10.3.2, Trimble GPS, Quantum GIS, Geolocate, Open Street Map Tracker, Route Master System, Excalibur, Google Earth Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite. In 2015 he joined the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs as a GIS Intern. This is where he provided professional GIS assistance to Urban & Regional Planners, and Land Use Managers for all KwaZulu-Natal Local and District Municipalities. In 2017 he was contracted by Bitwise Development as an Independent Data Collector, where he collected and documented GPS data for all minibus taxi routes in eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Later that year he joined Revenue Consulting (Pty) Ltd as a Specialist Field Service Coordinator, where he enforced Debt Collection Field Services in a number of Local Municipalities in the Eastern Cape. In 2018 he then joined SANBI as a Research Assistant where he georeferenced specimens on the Threatened Species & Biogaps programmes. in 2019 he was contracted independently by FUZE GEOMATICS to work on the GIS Agricultural Activities Data Capture within Alfred Nzo District Municipality, Project number - ANDM/PED-GIS/42/24/10/7. His main career objective is to excel in geospatial data collection and analysis to improve decision making with accurate and precise information.
