Managed and developed process for extraction of PGM’s from a specific material sourced by the company. Project managed contractors including cost controlling. Designed final process from R&D data in conjunction with technology provider. Commissioned and optimised plant with contractors and facilitated handover. Developed the program and optimised the PLC code which was designed in Codesys. Managed daily plant operations. From employment of staff to process optimisation and troubleshooting. As well as cost control and budgeting. Handled the environmental management of the site as well as the environmental permitting, specifically hazardous material storage permit, waste management permits, as well as air emission licenses. Managed supply chains and storage of spares. Involved in SADPMR (South African Diamond and Precious Metal Regulator) functions including new applications and operational reporting. Focusing on value added projects for the petrochemical industries (Sasol). This involved conceptual design, trouble shooting and optimisation of existing petrochemical units using simulation packages. Also involved in identifying opportunities to lower capital costs for future expansion projects. Involved in front-end studies to optimise operation on part of existing plants. As well as debottlenecking projects. Also worked on the detailed design and hydraulics calculations on the Konkola mining Complex. Zincor Weak Acid Leach upgrade. COURSES COMPLETED Hazard and Operability Study Techniques (1 – 3 September 2004) Attended an advanced cost engineering course with Elpavo Training Consultancies. Aspen Process Simulation course Worked for 6 months on calculating benefits derived from pension funds for individuals of the U.K. This formed part of the Pension Review of the U.K. where individuals lost benefits of their company pension schemes due to their transfer into personal pension schemes. The work involved calculating this loss. Tasked to review business proposals for potential investment. This involved market research for proposed business as well as financial evaluation.
