My background includes the execution of activities associated with the responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Contract Manager in both the EPC and EPCM environments. I have worked on NEC 3 and FIDIC based contracts in the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Power Generation and Mining environments for the past five years. Some of my core responsibilities included the management of change, site measurements, generating bill of quantities, keeping record and tracking of claims or potential claims, liaising and formalizing contractual correspondence with all associated disciplines, cost reporting and control and assisting with disputes. I have found these environments to be very challenging but rewarding which has certainly tested my capabilities. I am confident that the difficulties and often tight deadlines that I have faced during the past five years have contributed to my ability in implementing creative & critical thinking during the identification & resolving of analytical queries. In addition to this experience, I gained considerable technical skills during my part-time and full-time employment as a technical assistant and, over the years, have developed strong communication and numerical skills. I hold a B-Tech degree in quantity surveying, and I am proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and have had exposure to MS Projects, Primavera, WinQS and CCS Candy. I am registered with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession and a member of both the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. I acknowledge that there is always an opportunity for further development and that a person is never fully educated however, I am confident that I am well experienced to provide the administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills that may be required.
