I have extensive experience in bookkeeping and administration having worked in large corporate environments, smaller businesses, as well as owning and managing a restaurant and guesthouse where I handled all the financial aspects of the business. I was co-owner/manager of a guesthouse in Kempton Park (Sugar Rose Guesthouse). The guesthouse was opened in February 2017 and quickly became a successful business due in part to my dedication to provide a professional as well as personal experience for my guests. I was responsible for all bookings, accounting functions as well as staff training, cooking and general management of the business. Sabastians Restaurant (Umkomaas, KZN) When we purchased the restaurant in 2010 I was a complete novice, having never worked in the industry. It became clear very quickly that I had an aptitude for working with people and this, along with my organisational abilities, made the experience very successful. I took care of all staff related issues, stock control, purchasing and all the related accounting functions that this entailed. We were VAT registered and I handled that function as well. I was also very involved in teaching the staff new recipes. I really enjoy making people feel welcome and comfortable. I spent a number of years working for the Bidvest Group at Prestige Cleaning Services where I was the Regional Administration Manager for various regions. The position involved working closely with all departments as well as senior Management where I prepared the Profit and Loss Forecast reports, Budgets, Annual Price Increases as well as the day to day administration duties. I was tasked with implementing VAT into the company I was employed by (Rapidol Ltd) and am very knowledgeable on the subject. I am very comfortable with, and enjoy, interacting with different people and can communicate well with all people. I enjoy figure work, am both thorough and a fast worker and I particularly enjoy reconciling accounts and statements. I am a fast learner and can pick up new programs and procedures very quickly. Although I am in my 50's, I consider myself young-at-heart and enjoy good health and vitality. I also have a good sense of humour. My other interests include baking, cooking, gardening, oil painting and reading.
