As a young and motivated individual, I am extremely interested in submitting an application for this position. In 2015 I obtained my Master’s Degree in Public Management and Governance, and I also have an Honours Degree in the same field. My undergraduate qualification is a BCom Degree in International Trade and Marketing. During 2013, while busy with my Master’s Degree, I had the opportunity to attend a PhD short course in Corporate Social Responsibility at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, for a period of two months. My work experience of the last ten years at the North-West University, in both administrative and academic positions, gave me solid knowledge of the higher education sector, as well as valuable skills. With regard to my abilities, the following: • Administration: Four years’ experience in administration including arranging meetings, taking minutes, liaising with different stakeholders, drafting and compiling letters and reports, compiling and maintaining databases, and general office management and support to the director. • Research: Six years’ experience in the research and academic environment including desktop and field research, supervision of Master’s students mini-dissertations, publications such as journal articles and reports, reviewing journal articles, examiner of Master’s dissertations from other universities, and liaising with international academics, NGOs and communities. I believe that my motivation, commitment, qualifications and pre-existing skills will enable me to fit into your work environment and immediately start supporting the needs of your institution. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application at an interview. Thanking you in advance for your time, Suzanne de Wit
