Dear Sir/Madam Please accept this as my formal application letter. I hold a MSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Limpopo (UL) with specialization in related to Chemistry (material science, analytical techniques, chemistry education, and research). I’m currently working at University of Limpopo (UL) as a laboratory assistant and research assistant of Nanotechnology Research group ****@*****.***. I have been in the student training as part of BSc programme for Chemistry and Geology students for more than 8 years, even since my first appointment as chemistry laboratory assistant at the University of Limpopo in 2014 and my goal in chemistry during that time and now is to foster the acquisition of a base of concepts and learning skills to facilitate further learning and thinking to equipment myself with the fundamental knowledge that may be used in the national institutes and private sector. In all of my time as laboratory assistant, I guide students in the evaluation of evidence, critical thinking, argument development, verbal and written expression, and the application of general principles to novel settings with respect to chemistry and research. These competencies helped and even now equip students for a broad range of demands in future academic and occupational settings. Of course my MSc postgraduate level, it was expected from me to attain a high level of scholarship in specific content areas, to own my research works and be able to present at local and international conference. This type of teaching and training was directly relevant to my careers development as now my MSc. Even since, I joined Nanotechnology Research group at University of Limpopo in collaboration with CSIR (I spent 9 months in CSIR for research training), I worked as research candidate for treatment of wastewater using analytical instruments such UV-vis, XRD, FTIR, STA, FAAS, and ICP. I also help 8 students to study BSc Hons degree with their research projects on water purification as a co-supervisor. To promote the development of general thinking and learning skills, as well as facilitate an understanding of Chemistry and research, all of my assistants are structured around three common themes: an emphasis on Chemistry and research, the development of writing skills and the generation of enthusiasm for scientific publications. I look forward with great anticipation to be part of the research team of your institute,(which I perceive as a place with a lot of opportunities for development).
