I have a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering (Environmental). My work experience in the petrochemical sector is 19 years. I have worked in both the Operations and Process Control departments at two South African petrochemical refineries. My position as an Advanced Process Control Engineer ensures that I possess a good knowledge of the Petrochemical Refinery processes, controls and instrumentation and their interactions. As an Advanced Process Control Engineer, my job is to improve plant stability and profitability, in order to ensure that the refinery process margins are met. This is achieved through the maintenance and improvement of the Refinery Process Control Strategies, by coordinating efficiently with the unit process engineers and planners and by ensuring that the panel operators are well trained in the control strategies used on their process units. . I monitor and assist in obtaining on specification production of Petrol, Kerosene, LPG, Lube Oils, Fuel Oil and Diesel products. Additionally, I also work extensively on alarm management at the refinery site as an objective to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. My ability to troubleshoot, work independently, as well as in a team and my commitment to tasks, makes me an asset. I have experience in working under pressure.
