PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE QUANTITY SURVEYING EXPERIENCE • Read and interpret construction drawings and CAD literacy. • Adjudicate, negotiate and appoint Sub-Contractors in accordance with the contractual requirements, procurement policies. • Assist the professional team with design issues or presenting alternatives in terms of the project budget or ease of methods to accelerate on a time line. • Applicant will review and interpretate any contracts and correspondence to and from the client or subcontractors. • Very meticulous about the general administration of contracts, drawings, internal systems, Etc. • Recognize any variations from the original scope and if in agreement with the professional team and client claim accordingly. • Ensure that all monthly certificates and claims are complete and claimed as per the contractual requirements. • Check sub- contractor claims, progress and verify if any variations and prepare payment accordingly. • Candidate can initiate and finalize the final account process with the PQS or Sub contractor. • Prepare and present cost reports including analysis and comparison of the creditor’s reports for several projects simultaneously. • If any addendums are received the candidate would study the impact on the various aspects of this on the project and actions the stake holders concerned. ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE • Source suitable tenders, Preview GB8 – GB9 tender documentation and present to senior management. • Prepare the tender program and procurement. • Appoint relevant estimators, tender buyers etc. • Split bills into the relevant trades and invite subcontractors to tender in accordance to the procurement requirements example BEE, HDI and local participation etc. • Import bills into the local pricing system (CCS) and price all trades not relevant t subcontractors. • Complete all returnable documentation and completion of the tender (Government and Private Sector) • Tender review and finalization with senior management. • Analyze all results. • Should the company be awarded the tender the candidate would head up an official handover to company’s operations teams. CONTRACTS / PROJECTS MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE • Compile the construction program with a realistic and achievable time line. • Ensure all resources for execution of works are on standby and ready to execute the works i.e. Site staff, Plant, Labor, Material, ETC. • Collective feedback and reporting to the client and company senior management. • Approve all payments made to sub – contractors and suppliers. • Approve all requisitions for Plant Labor Material etc. • Ensure the project is delivered to specification, within budget and on time. OTHER GENERAL EXPERIENCE • HR. related topics e.g. job profiling, performance appraisal systems and disciplinary procedures in accordance with the company policies and statutory requirements. • Occupational Health and Safety act and implementation and the relative statutory requirements. • Design and implementation of quality systems including streamlining of adminstrational requirements. • High level of computer literacy. Good knowledge and understanding of IT hardware and software and computer proficient in a networked environment.
