I am one of South Africa's most consummate marketers, having 35 years of blue chip experience both on the agency and client side. Most recently, I was Head of Brand Communication at Discovery for eight years, working across all Discovery businesses including the mothership itself. Discovery was recently ranked second in South Africa only to Nando's in terms of the quality and efficacy of its communication - not bad for an insurance company selling low interest products. Before Discovery I was CEO of Grey SA for three years. In 2009 Grey SA was the most creatively awarded office in the Grey network worldwide, and we increased NPBT by 43% on the previous year. I was also part of the management team at the Jupiter Drawing Room for nine years, as Deputy MD and Head of Planning. TJDR was voted Agency of the Decade in the 2000s by Finweek and the fifth most creative agency in the world by the US publication Advertising Age in 2005.
