Hi, I am Tshwarelo Ramathapa, an experienced Laboratory Chemist with over 12 years experience in managing mining(Chrome) laboratories. My expertise lies in implementation and maintaining of ISO/IEC 17025 standard, method development, method validation, commissioning of new instruments, conducting audits as per ISO/IEC 17025 and designing a Quality Management System as required by ISO/IEC 17025 standard. I hold a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry from Tshwane University of Technology and Advanced Diploma in Management (currently studying, to be completed in December 2024) from Stadio Higher Education. I have started my career at Samncor Western Chrome mines as a Laboratory student in 2012 and worked myself through the ranks until I was promoted to Laboratory Quality Practitioner in 2015 where I was responsible for the Quality Management System of the laboratory with more focus on Training of personnel, Method validations/development, conducting audits, writting/reviewing documents, commissioning new instruments and other laboratory related projects. In 2017 October I moved to PCL Laboratories in Rustenburg where the project was to obtain initial ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for Steelpoort branch which was later obtained in May 2019. In July 2019 I was transferred to Steelpoort branch where I was appointed as Nominated Representaive and Technical Signatory for the laboratory and have overall responsibility of the laboratory. I have worked with instruments such as ICP-OES, XRF, Titration, Turbidimeter. The other methods which I have detailed knowledge are AFS, Sizing, Friability, SG, Turbidity, pH, and Conductivity.
