I am a dedicated, motivated and passionate civil engineering graduate and seek job employment in my relevant field. I am very confident, have strong communication skills and am very passionate about managing people in order to achieve the required goals and specifications set out by clients. As evident in my CV, I have an extremely strong work ethic and am willing to gain further knowledge within the engineering field in order to further excel in my career. I have experience shadowing structural engineers in renewable energy, which focused on utilizing popular computer applications, as well as defining strategies for satisfying clients through optimized construction plans and cost-effective delivery. This experience taught me to think critically and analytically in order to solve complex, real-world problems. Through previous positions, I was able to develop my management and organisational skills, working closely with students and fellow classmates in order to ensure tasks were carried out efficiently and effectively. In these roles, I motivated others by using creative thinking skills, while approaching individuals in a friendly and professional manner. I have developed excellent interpersonal skills as a result of this, and acquired the necessary skills to thrive in team settings. Throughout my studies, I worked in various roles, including bartending, sales promotions and private tutoring, which taught me great customer service skills as well as the ability to effectively manage my time. I recently co-founded, and now manage, an online company that focuses on tutoring individuals with the use of an innovative platform. This role taught me excellent problem-solving and planning skills. During my studies, amongst other aspects, I specifically focused on the following: • Compiling strong reports that focus on delivering mock conceptual ideas and detailed designs for the attainment of tenders. • Using SlopeW and SeepW for a mock detailed design of a tailings dam. • Utilizing QGIS and HEC-RAS to analyze and develop an acceptable design of a mock bridge, as well as road drainage structures, for a corresponding recurrence interval. • Working in Prokon and PVSol in order to analyse various trusses within buildings for the development and use of solar panels. • Becoming competent with the repetitive use of AutoCAD to interpret and design necessary components for projects. • Understanding SANS (South African National Standards) through repetitive exercises.
