I have always had a very big passion for psychology and working with people. In 2015, I obtained my honours degree in Psychology at the University of the Free State. It was during 2016 when I became more convinced than ever that I want to pursue a career in psychology when I completed a registered counselling internship at the University of the Free State. During my counselling internship, I worked at a high school, working with adolescents facing a number of challenges, such as bullying, stress and study methods. In addition to this, I was also a learning facilitator for a first year module at the University of the Free State. As part of my responsibilities, I tutored students and assisted them with any additional academic challenges they faced during their first year on campus. In 2017 I completed my Master’s degree in counselling psychology at the University of the Free State. During my internship I worked at a primary school as well as high school where I assisted children and adolescents with challenges they faced. I have received extensive training in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy from The Albert Ellis Institute (New York City). In addition to this, I have also been trained in Solution Focused Therapy by Elliott Connie (USA).
