I started off by studying HED (4Years) at Potchefstroom University. After having been one year in the Defence force, I started with my B Com degree in my second year in the Defence force. On completion of my B Com degree, I also completed my B Ed (Honours), and my M Ed, majoring in Educational Management. I was a Senior Science teacher my whole career. In 1994 I was appointed as Deputy Headmaster at Hartbeespoortdam High School. In 1999 I was appointed as Principal, and stayed in this position for six years. I moved to Cape Town, where I continued my career, and has been Principal of Porterville High School for the past ten years. I enjoy teaching tremendously and have never had any doubts choosing this career path. Although I am sixty years of age, I do not feel or act like it. I feel I still have a lot to give back to our communities especially with all my experience. I am also not looking ahead at retirement, rather at changing my career.
