I am a final year PhD candidate at the university of the Witwatersrand. My extensive and diverse research experience in the fields of green chemistry, bio-inorganic chemistry, organic medicinal chemistry, and material science makes me an ideal candidate for this position. It has given me the ability to understand, easily adapt and function in different laboratory environments. My work in bio-inorganic and organic medicinal chemistry gave me specific and broad understanding of qualitative and quantitative analysis using varying techniques. I have extensive experience in designing/developing standard operating procedures and synthetic routes, refining them, and executing them for the production and analysis of different materials. My research and teaching experience (undergraduate and postgraduate) give me the unique advantage of being able to evaluate, record and present knowledge and data in different settings and formats. Additionally, my teaching experience has given me the ability to train individuals in different chemistry subject matters at different levels. My experience in leadership positions such the student representative council of the university has added much value to my interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
