Personally, I can best be described as an independent individual who takes my work seriously but is not overly serious about life. I believe myself to be young at heart & a content person who lives for the moment, nature & wildlife gives me great pleasure and is part of who I am. My work is my lifestyle, I have no other commitments or dependants and devote myself fully to my work, I take ownership of my responsibilities and perform them to the best of my capability. If I am given a department to run, it all falls back on me, I am there – pretty much most of the time. I am good with technology, very computer literate, left brained indeed. My organisational skills have been exercised often and I can humbly say that they have improved 200% but keep on improving everyday – can you ever say ‘you’ve arrived’? When I rarely take a day off, then I do it well, and disappear, but am back at it again when then sun comes up. My experiences run from working in a bank, to flight logistics, to restaurant management and overall lodge management. I report to ownership, employees report to me. I am what you would call a general manager, I am technical, to take care of implementing procedures, maintaining facilities & crisis management. I am customer orientated, I am verbal, well spoken in English, Afrikaans & Dutch and handle compliments and complaints well, but most importantly I make the guest/customer feel at home and taken care of. I am organised, identify what needs to be done, instruct & inspect and discipline staff when needed.
