I am a qualified Chemical Engineer and Health and Safety professional. I have acquired various skills in the past 15 years of my employment. My skills and qualification allow me to work in various departments as I have worked in different companies undertaking various roles. I have worked as a process engineer which gave me adequate and much needed skills when process safety is concerned. I have a technical background which makes me to be an exceptional Health and Safety Manager. I have worked as an EHS Engineer for five years that allowed me to keep abreast with the latest regulation, laws pertaining to process safety and health, safety, and environment. I have also acquired knowledge in municipal by laws how they link with company’s activities and to ensure compliance. I adapt easily to change, and I learn with ease any subject pertaining to the work I perform. I have skills in root cause investigation, problem solving, problem analysis, auditing, training, and coach personnel. I was a chairman of two work groups with CAIA, chemical handling and leadership and culture. I have found it very interesting because it afforded me an opportunity to learn from other people coming from different companies. I believe you never stop learning. Learning gives you opportunities to do better in your profession. I was responsible for completing a budget for the department and controlling the budget. I was entrusted to ensure that all health, safety, and environment compliance obligations, whether is undertaking occupational survey, EHS training, EHS programs and event planning, and other EHS requirement are met. I really enjoy interacting with workers and other stakeholders. Contractor management was part of my responsibility. Ensuring that contractors are vetted accordingly when it comes to health, safety, and environment requirements. Which also included induction training for the contractors.
