Zikhona is a seasoned journalist and radio presenter at the SABC. She reads news on SAfm and is the host of current affairs show “Africa Midday” weekdays at the SABC’S international station Channel Africa radio. She boasts a wealth of experience in the broadcasting field having worked for among others EWN (Eye witness news), Highveld Stereo 94.7 and Radio 2000. She is a bubbly and open minded extrovert who loves interacting with people from all walks of life. She is a big music enthusiast and takes a keen interest in the arts. Zikhona is also the founder of popular and vibrant dialogue series in Johannesburg, titled INCOKO. INCOKO, meaning conversation in isiXhosa is a monthly dialogue session for critical, raw and honest conversation on a range of topics relevant to the modern day African experience. Her versatile voicing skills have been used on numerous campaigns and advertisements. She has also worked on mini radio dramas, documentaries and excels as an MC. Zikhona is alumnus of the Thabo Mbeki African Leaders’ Institute at UNISA. She studied journalism at the Tshwane University of Technology and has trained with among others the Sol Plaatjie institute for media leadership and the U.K based Thomson Foundation. She is also a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow, which is the flagship program of the prestigious Young African Leaders’ Initiative (YALI) founded by former U.S President – Barack Obama.
