I am a diligent, hardworking young individual who aspires to achieve greater things whilst contributing to the economy and its development. I enjoy Mathematics and finding solutions is one of my biggest strengths. This opportunity will help me apply the theoretical and practical skills that I have acquired while at Varsity and as an intern. The position will also allow me to grow, learn and achieve to advance my career growth. In the year 2018 I completed my BSc(Honours) degree in Statistical Sciences at the University of the Western Cape. While I was still at Varsity, I have worked with statistical software such as Microsoft excel, SAS, SPSS and R. While I was a Data Analyst intern at OLSPS Analytics, I was doing data analysis using SPSS, and I would write up weekly reports based on the results obtained during the analysis. For the past eight months, my data analysis skills have advanced incredibly since I joined Explore Data Science academy. I have been exposed to team projects at Explore Data Science Academy, in which Machine Learning techniques were used for modeling the best predictive model using Python. At Explore Data Science Academy I have worked with SQL for data extraction, third normalization of data, and relational database management. I work with python for data cleaning, data analysis, Machine Learning, and data visualization (Numpy, Pandas, Sklearn, and Matplotlib, and Re to name a few of the libraries I have worked with). For data visualization, I have also worked with Power BI. I am a perfect candidate for this position because this is literally what I have been trained for. I am analytical and a problem solver. I am very comfortable with working with data (and large data sets as well) and numbers, and I pay attention to detail and accuracy. I enjoy working with data and finding trends and relationships between variables. Throughout my academic life, I don’t ever recall myself being late with an assignment. Being the fast learner that I am, I am very sure that I can learn to do the job very quick and adapt fast. I pride myself with my punctuality.
